Introduction

Welcome to the home page of 'Altered Realities'.

This is the site where I will be posting up chapters for my originally created world of 'Altered Realities'. Feel free to read as much as you want, sign the guest book and/or contact me. I would love to hear feedback from my readers, as well as see what kind of people I'm attracting

Backstory

'Altered Realities' started out as something for me to do in my free time during Junior English in high school. I handed the seven (written) page prologue over to my friend next to me one day, asking him to read it and tell me what he thought of it. Originally, I wasn't going to write more than those seven pages. But after he handed it back to me, saying that he liked it, I got the urge to get more opinions.

Giving it to another friend in the same class, he read it over during our free time as well as I turned my attention to something else. Tossing the packet of papers onto my desk, he merely stated that it was like everything else I wrote and didn't give much of an opinion. Rolling my eyes, I didn't mention the prologue (then short story) again for the rest of the hour.

Back at home, on the writing websites that I belong to, readers and friends of mine out right demanded to read what I wrote. They were used to my fan fiction and wanted to see what type of story my twisted little mind would come up with. So I painstakingly typed up all seven pages, not that easy when dealing with written text, and sent it to them all.

I was shocked by the reviews I got back. One friend said that the style of the story reminded him of a book that I never thought to be compared to. Another wanted more. Between their reactions, and the reactions of my friends at school, it was enough to push me to write another chapter. Half way through, I gave a friend who wanted more a sneak peek of a few paragraphs. He asked why I wasn't posting this on a website, which made me make a small website for just the prologue and first chapter.

But when the idea of a second chapter came up in conversation, I then decided to make this a full out project and made a proper website for it (this one!). Set on writing a full novel, I moved everything I had written onto my personal computer and stored away the beginning chapters. Writing for it became a hobby for me to do at home instead of anywhere during my free time, but the restriction of typing it on the computer was more than enough to make me keep story notes with me. After that, it was just a matter of thinking everything up.

All chapters will be posted as soon as they are finished, without being edited, so there will be mistakes throughout them. Please take this notice into consideration when you make a review or leave a comment. While the chapters are available for reading, they still require proof-reading, editing, and addition of details.
